Embark on a Magical Journey with the Disney Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen

Japan’s high-speed rail network is set to welcome an enchanting new experience with the arrival of the Disney Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen. A collaboration between JR Central and Tokyo Disney Resort, this special train service celebrates the opening of Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea and is scheduled to operate from February 21, 2025, to mid-September 2025.

A Whimsical Design Inspired by Fantasy Springs

The Disney Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen is more than just a mode of transportation—it’s an immersive experience. Adorned with breathtaking imagery from Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan, the exterior of this N700A series train is a visual spectacle:

• Purple Rapunzel’s Forest theme (Cars 2, 5, 8, 11, 15)
• Green Peter Pan’s Never Land theme (Cars 3, 6, 9, 13)
• Blue Frozen Kingdom theme (Cars 4, 7, 10, 12, 14)
• Blended design of all three areas (Cars 1 and 16)

Inside, passengers will be treated to Disney-themed headrest covers, table stickers embedded with QR codes linking to Fantasy Springs information, and even an onboard melody featuring I See the Light from Tangled.

Route and Travel Details

This magical train runs exclusively on the Tokaido Shinkansen line between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka, stopping at major stations including Kyoto, Toyohashi, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Shin-Yokohama, and Shinagawa. It primarily operates on Hikari and Kodama services, making it accessible to travelers using the JR Pass.

On its debut day, the train will operate under Nozomi services, which are only partially covered by the JR Pass. Travelers wishing to board will need to purchase an additional ticket.

Unlimited Access with the JR Pass

Holders of the JR Pass can enjoy unlimited travel on Japan’s Shinkansen network, including access to the Disney Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen on eligible services. For Nozomi service rides, an extra fee will be required.

Operating Schedule and Availability

The Disney Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen will run multiple times daily under three different schedules: A, B, and C.

The operation calendar for February and March has already been released on the official website, allowing travelers to plan their rides in advance.
